Well, that’s an interesting choice! Just in time for Halloween season, Benji Madden debuted a seriously intricate (and kind of freaky!) tattoo on his scalp while on a date night with his wife of nine months, Cameron Diaz, on Oct. 3.

The famous twosome were spotted out at The Nice Guy in West Hollywood making an exit to their waiting Uber, when photographers snapped pictures of the Good Charlotte guitarists’s fresh ink. 

The twin brother of Nicole Richie‘s husband, Joel Madden, is no stranger to tattoos — in fact, just seven weeks after tying the knot with Diaz, Benji, 36, added her name in cursive ink across his chest.

But his new body art — well, head art — makes a bolder statement. The tattoo, which could be covered if he chooses to grow out his buzzed hair, is a network of geometric lines with a shaded skull (missing its front teeth) in the very center. 

Diaz, 43, contrasted Benji’s edgy, all-black, leather look with a feminine polka-dot sheath dress, nude pumps, and flowing blonde hair.
